In 2002, Governor Perdue was elected to build a New Georgia. He turned a deficit into a surplus, helped create over 250,000 new jobs, and cut over $2 billion in taxes. He did this while increasing funding for his top priority: education. Governor Perdue also changed the way that state government did business making it faster, friendlier, and easier.
In 2006, Georgians responded overwhelmingly to the Governors leadership. He was re-elected with 58% percent of the vote, winning 138 out of 159 counties.
His most recent budget included funding for almost all of the proposals from his campaign. It continues his focus on education with funding for Middle School Graduation Coaches. It also includes money for the Child Safety Initiative (anti-online predator program) and the Georgia Secure ID, as well as funding to double the size of the GBI Meth Force. It also continues to grow Georgia by increasing funding for international economic development and including a tax incentive for companies who invest in bio-fuels.
Your support has been instrumental in getting Governor Perdue's agenda passed. By continuing to support PerduePAC you can help ensure that sound policy will continue to be made that benefits Georgians. Thank you.
